| Review: Billy Taggart (Mark Wahlberg) is a New York City police, who have recognized the technology after an accused rapist force / murder. Discharged from the force of the captain (Jeffrey Wright), Taggart was appreciated by Hostetler mayor (Russell Crowe) to take the trash to a rough thug , ng often. Seven years later, Hostetler, in the midst of a re-election battle golden boy Jack Alderman Vaillant (Barry Pepper), Taggart commitment to find out who is sleeping with his beautiful wife (Catherine Zeta -Jones). As follows Taggart, he discovers a much larger conspiracy. During his first solo, Allen Hughes (one half of the Hughes brothers, who brought us The Book of Eli), now provides an elegant vision, dark corruption New York. Women are beautiful and all have something to hide, the violence and cruelty, and the story is taken from the target countless threads lifelike. City broken lives up to its name and put a bullet packed with intrigue and intelligence . That does not mean smart. The story semi trailer is a bit misleading, but perhaps that's the point. Mayor Hostetlers true blue cop Taggart hired only a small segment of a much larger puzzle. It involves police, businessmen and politicians in bribery and exploitation with an award but Billy seems all looking for: power. Overall, the theme of the movie and full-forward than what is. If you understand that and not looking for anything else, Broken City is your ticket. As I was watching the movie I kept thinking that there must be a significant tool to cut and edit. Probably too dry reduce the original, so I added in some cut scenes and some to make the film seem more worried. But it does not seem as sharp as it could have been. Some subplots (such as actress girlfriend Billys or underdeveloped relationship between father-son villains) go anywhere and still unresolved when the screen is black. I feel much the same way.Mark Wahlberg do a great job playing Mark Wahlberg, a role he was born to play. Catherine Zeta-Jones is beautiful and commanding as ever in the role that is too short for drama. But is Russell Crowe, who swallowed up the political scene intensity I would assume is necessary for any real mayor of New York. Even the script is built around Billy stood, Crowe tears apart his role. He shows what is really one of the best actors in the business. Role in this film as much as a draw. Jeffrey Wright, often supporting characters with more power than he lets on, play secret police commissioner. His character was introduced as a stock role, but ended up being much more. Kyle Chandler has a small role, needs to be expanded. Barry Pepper, who had not even been shown in the trailer, is the only actor in the film with courage like Crowe. Scene, especially with Wright and Wahlberg is a sign of what should be the poster, now buried in the credits under the skin Health. Breaking cities generally keep my attention, but left me longing for more. I think that's all you can ask of a movie. I want to join this trip again. |
