| Review: I saw The Impossible with a clear objective to remain somewhat emotionally distant. I know from the trailer that the imminent disaster from the beginning, so I prepare for the impact and keep our fingers crossed that Ewan McGregor would give him more than the lack luster performance I feel like I'm used to. OK, so I cried for about 10 minutes in the film. While McGregor credible, although not back to form, the actual performance here is Naomi Watts. It is interesting to see, and gives credibility to the entire cast as you watch the world collapse around them. I wince, squirm and spend a few minutes forget to breathe. An emotional roller coaster, but shallow bit in history, more than compensates with a strong edition. Great job with little between. |
